The Ministry is registering every tricycle (keke) operating in the state with its owner and union. Registration keeps riders and passengers safe, confirms union compliance, and lets the Ministry track plates, permits and roadworthiness records.
How it works
Four steps to a verified tricycle
Registration is free to start online. Ministry staff review and verify every record before a tricycle is confirmed as registered.

Visit your union or LGA registration point
Registration points are set up with participating unions and at Ministry desks in each Local Government Area.

Provide your NIN and tricycle details
Bring your NIN and your tricycle particulars — plate number, make, model and colour.

Get registered under your owner profile
The officer records the tricycle against your name, phone number and union.
- 04
Receive your code and permit confirmation
Once the Ministry verifies the record, your tricycle shows as Registered and you keep a reference number.
